Cheese

At the top of our list is cheese! One study found that after participants ate cheese, the pH level in their mouth was higher, which helps guard against tooth decay. Cheese is also a great source of calcium, which helps bone and tooth strength. Eating cheese also leads to increased saliva production, which will wash away plaque and help prevent harmful bacteria from creating small caries in your teeth.

Celery

This crunchy vegetable is not only good for your body, it is also good for your teeth! When you are chewing on this crunchy vegetable, it quite literally scrubs your teeth like a toothbrush and washes away food particles and other bacteria from your teeth. In addition to this, celery is also a good source of vitamins A & C, which will give a good boost of antioxidants to your gums.

Apples

An apple a day will keep the…dentist away? Well, you definitely need to see your dentist for regular appointments, but eating apples will do wonders for your oral health and may prevent problems such as cavities and tooth decay. Apples are high in fiber and also water content, and eating an apple will rinse away bacteria and food particles just like celery does. In addition to this, the fibrous texture of apples are good for your gums!

Yogurt

Yogurt is a good food for your gut and for your teeth. The beneficial bacteria in yogurt that is good for your gut will also improve your oral health. Those beneficial bacteria crowd out the bad bacteria in your mouth, so it will prevent cavities from forming. Be sure to eat yogurt that doesn’t have added sugar. Plain yogurt with healthy fresh fruit toppings will do! Eat your yogurt with strawberries for extra teeth whitening!
